OBJECTIVE

The Career Vocational Skills seminar was designed to acquaint students of classes 10 and 12 with job-oriented vocational courses and practical career pathways available after completing school. Its purpose was to emphasize the value of skill development alongside academic learning and to guide students on how fields such as graphic designing, digital marketing, accounting, programming, civil and mechanical design, interior designing, and draftsman work can enhance their career prospects.

Another key objective of the seminar was to explain the NEP 2020 framework, highlighting how credit-based and skill-focused courses can improve employability and open up better job opportunities. The session also aimed to provide hands-on exposure through demonstrations and interactive activities, enabling students to make well-informed decisions about their future education and career paths.

REPORT IN BRIEF

The Career Vocational Skills seminar was successfully conducted at Govt. S.V. Rohini, Sector 7 on 2nd May 2026, covering sessions for both Class 12 and Class 10 students. The Class 12 session was held from 10:00 AM onwards with 40 students from all streams, followed by the Class 10 session from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, which also saw enthusiastic participation.

The program began with a warm welcome to teachers, students, and coordinators, followed by an introduction to vocational careers and their significance in today’s competitive job market. Students from both classes were introduced to a wide range of skill-based courses, particularly in computer-related fields, supported by practical demonstrations through a projector.

An engaging poster-designing activity was conducted, allowing students to apply their creativity and learning in an interactive manner. The seminar also highlighted the NEP 2020 framework, explaining how credit-based vocational courses can enhance employability and support long-term career growth.

Interactive doubt-clearing sessions were held for both groups, where students actively participated, asked questions, and received personalized guidance on career pathways after Class 10 and Class 12. The overall atmosphere remained positive, lively, and enthusiastic throughout the day, encouraging students to explore new skills, understand career opportunities, and build confidence in their future decisions.

The initiative was highly appreciated by the school principal, who awarded an appreciation certificate in recognition of the program’s valuable social and educational contribution.

FUTURE RECOMMENDATIONS

To further enhance the effectiveness of such seminars, it is recommended that similar sessions be conducted regularly to provide continuous guidance and exposure to students. Incorporating more hands-on workshops and live projects can deepen practical understanding. Inviting industry professionals or vocational experts as guest speakers can offer real-world insights and inspiration. Additionally, providing follow-up support, such as counseling sessions or resource materials, can help students take concrete steps toward skill development. Schools may also consider integrating vocational training opportunities within the curriculum to ensure long-term benefits for students.
